Base Layer:
BASE LAYER:
The base layer is the layer we wear closest to our skin. The purpose of this layer is to move sweat away from our skin and on to the next layer. It's very important to choose this layer carefully as it has a lot to say about whether you stay warm or not. We highly recommend merino wool as the innermost layer but for those who's skin gets irritated from the wool we also recommend our Dry Fast® clothing line.
It's important not to wear cotton closest to the skin when you go out in the cold. Cotton gets cold immediately when it gets wet and the moisture makes you cold. If cotton is used as a base layer it doesn't matter what you're wearing over it or how thick it is, the cotton can still feel cold against your skin.

MERINO WOOL
Merino wool is the best material that you can use as a base layer and according to our opinion it's one of the most technical materials that's on the market today.
Wool has the unique quality to keep you warm even when it gets wet, this quality is highly important when perspiration forms during physical activities. It also dries fairly quickly and keeps your body temperature even as the heat from your body stays within the wool fibers.
Our merino underwear is made from a wool blend which consists of 80% wool and 20% polyamid, the polyamid guarantees good elasticity and softness and also that the garments keep their original form. This wool blend is durable and soft and odor repellent.
We offer two types of woolen underwear, one that is light grey, that is 170g and one that is dark gray that is 220g.

DRY FAST®
Dry Fast® is a light Tecnopile® fleece fabric that provides good breathability and stretches well. It's a good choice for those who don't want to use woolen underwear although it doesn't provide the same qualities as the wool.
The structure of the fabric wicks moisture outward, eliminating the perspiration formed during intense physical activity and guaranteeing constant body temperature. The material is soft and smooth on the skin, non-allergic, does not produce rustling noises and is easy to care for.
Our Dry Fast® fabric is structured in a way that on the outside it looks like cotton and on the inside, against your skin, is soft fleece.

Middle Layer:
MIDDLE LAYER
The Middle layers purpose is to provide insulation and to move sweat outwards. Cintamani offers a variety of middle layers in different fabrics.

TECNOPILE®
Our thinnest middle layer is our 280 gr. Tecnopile® fleece. It's made from microfiber so it's thin but still condense. The advantages of wearing a thin middle layer are that it's lighter so it makes it better to wear during high-energy activities.

TECNOSTRETCH®
Next on the thickness scale is our Tecnostretch® fabric that is 370 gr. Tecnostretch® is a fleece fabric, it has a smooth surface but is soft like fleece on the inside. It's more condense than our Tecnopile® fabric and it also has better insulation and is more durable. The Spandex in Tecnostretch® makes it stretch well which ensures a good body hugging fit.

TERAGON WOOL®
Teragon Wool® is a fusion of natural comfort and synthetic fibre performances. 30% wool and 70% Polyester. Thye main benefit of the wool is to create a thermal insulation, breathability and quick drying and the synthetic fibers provide maximum comfort and easy care. The structure of the fabric wicks moisture outward, eliminating perspiration formed during intense physical activity, guaranteeing a constant body temperature. The material is soft and smooth to the skin, non-allergic and does not produce irritating rustling noises.

TECNOWOOL®
Our thickest middle layer is Tecnowool®. Tecnowool is an exeptional blend of fleece and wool. The wool provides all of its best qualities and the fleece softens the wools texture. This fabric is specailly created to provide thermal insulation so it's espesially warm. The wool does not irritate the skin and the fabric is easy to care for.

PROWOOL®
Prowool® is a recycled fabric that is a blend of the natural thermo-regulation properties of wool and the extraordinary performances of synthetic fibers. Resistance, breathability, and thermal insulation make Prowool® an efficient protection against low temperature for an easy-care active wear.

DRY COMFORT XT™
Dry Comfort XT™ is a high-technological coating technique developed for activewear. The fabric has unique characteristics to be windproof, water repellent, waterproof, breathable and easy care. The fabric is granted authorization according to ÖKO-TEX Standard 100.

Washing Instructions
Down:
- You can find specific washing instructions for your Cintamani down garment on the inside of the garment itself.
- Most Cintamani down garments can be washed in a washing machine. Do not wash the garment at a higher temperature than suggested in the washing instructions, usually it's not recommended to use a heat setting higher than 30°C.
- When washing down garments it's essential to dry it in a dryer once it has been washed. Dry it at a low temperature and put tennis balls or rolled up socks with the garment to ruffle the down. Don't take the garment out of the dryer until it's completely dry.
- As with other outdoor garments, a down garment should be machine washed as infrequently as possible to prolong the material’s life.
- Most of the time it can be enough to wash the garment with a damp cloth, to rinse it with water or to air it out.
- Fabric softeners can damage garments made for outdoor activities and should be avoided. It is advised to use less than a tablespoon of washing detergent, without added chemicals, or a detergent especially made for down garments. Please note that the washing detergent used should not contain fabric softener.
- Down jackets should not be ironed.
- For optimal handling wash the garment in a washing program designed for wool or silk if possible and avoid the spin cycle.
- It is important to remove any fur from the garment before it is washed, otherwise it will be damaged in the wash.
- Before you put the garment in a dryer we recommend that you let it hang to dry for 2-3 hours.
